Mari Lwyd Christmas Tea Towel
This is deffo the most niche one but it might be my fav?
The Mari Lwyd is a folk tradition in Wales where a horses skull, decorated with ribbons with someone hiding in a sheet underneath it is taken door to door in a village. If you answer the door to Mari you would have to essentially rap battle (pwnco) her. If you lose the battle you’d have to invite her and her gang in for food and drink. Here is a teatowel that celebrates this weird, wonderful and Welsh festive tradition. Also, even with a horses skull in it, it still feels more hygienic than putting a coin in a Christmas pudding.
These tea towels are adorned with art I commissioned from a female, Welsh designer.
The tea towels themselves are certified organic cotton with water based (ie non harmful) inks. The company is certified by the soil association and the tea towels are printed in Cornwall.
