Bio

Welsh comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean is a multi-award winning comedian, satirist and writer. Her recent credits include hosting Live at the Apollo and appearances on HIGNFY, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, QI and Frankie Boyle's New World Order.

A regular on the radio, with her own specialist comedy show on BBC Radio Wales. Kiri was also the host of Newjack, she regularly co-hosts Loose Ends, guest hosted The News Quiz and has now become the host of her own Radio 4 panel show, Best Medicine. Best Medicine was nominated for Best Comedy Panel Show at the British Comedy Awards and was nominated for an Aria for it’s first series, it has recently been commissioned for a second series.

2024 sees her embarking on her fourth and biggest stand-up tour to date with her new show, Peacock. “expect sequins, social commentary, and massive laughs from the renaissance woman of UK comedy” – Rolling Stone

Kiri is co-creator and co-host of cult hit All Killa No Filla, a podcast about serial killers that has a huge following worldwide. Co-hosted with Rachel Fairburn, the podcast's live adaptation sold out The Leicester Square Theatre in minutes, toured the United States and to mark it’s 10 year anniversary, the show is touring to ten of their favourite venues in their favourite cities.

Who are you Wearing, is a long-form interview podcast about fashion where Kiri chats to comedians, activists, celebrities and designers about fashion but in which the conversation invariably moves into some fascinating areas.

She also co-hosts The Pod of Wales with Esyllt Sears; a comedy travel podcast in association with Visit Wales where they both become tourists in their own country, sampling local food and drink, experiencing local hospitality and participating in key attractions.

Kiri’s writing and directing credits are as diverse as they are acclaimed. She is 1/5 of the sketch group, Tarot, a former winner of the Caroline Aherne Bursary, she wrote an ad directed a monologue for The Old Vic staring Susan Wokoma and has recently received a third series commission for her BBC Radio Wales sitcom, The Learners.

In 2023 she made her screen directing with a comedy short for the BBC, Pobl Bachyn. No stranger to a writer's room Kiri has written extensively across radio and was a writer on four series of the Russel Howard Hour.

During lockdown Kiri hosted Live from the Covid Arms, which emerged top of the online comedy gigs during this period and was sighted as a cultural highlight of 2020 by The Telegraph. It was recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest online pub; it had 6,215 visitors to its online quiz and The Covid Arms also raised over £150, 000 for food banks and The Trussell Trust.
